Software Engineer 3 (Java/AWS)

Location: On-site in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, United States. United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph are required.

Eligible for a $5,000 bonus, including a 20% SEP IRA contribution. Hourly compensation varies based on contract rates, education, experience, skills, certifications, and geographic location.

What you will do

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance complex full-stack Java software systems.
• Engineer end-to-end serverless architectures using AWS services.
• Analyze requirements, define software and performance specifications, and develop new features.
• Integrate software, databases, data repositories, authentication services, and operating environments.
• Debug applications, resolve defects, execute software testing, and maintain technical documentation.
• Lead software development teams, delegate programming and testing responsibilities, and ensure quality standards.

Requirements

• Current TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph, including the required PRIVAC level, is mandatory.
• United States citizenship is required due to federal contract requirements.
• Twenty years of software engineering experience on programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or four additional years of comparable software engineering experience.
• Professional experience with Java, JavaScript, Python, Agile development, secure full-stack authentication, and multi-source data integration.
• Experience delivering full-stack AWS solutions using API Gateway, Lambda, Secrets Manager, Parameter Store, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and Aurora PostgreSQL.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of commercial cloud services, preferably AWS.
• PostgreSQL and DynamoDB experience.
• DevOps and CI/CD automation experience.
• Angular or Vue experience.
