Software Engineer

TL;DR

Software Engineer (Java/Python): Design, develop, and maintain web-based software applications supporting national defense missions with an accent on backend services, REST APIs, and data pipelines. Focus on building microservices architecture, integrating external data sources, and optimizing performance for operational tools and analytics.

Location: Onsite at 308 Sentinel Drive, Annapolis Junction, MD. U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph required. U.S. person status verification needed.

Salary: $83,500 – $150,000

What you will do

• Build and maintain web applications and backend services
• Develop RESTful APIs and integrate external data sources
• Debug defects, optimize performance, and contribute to DevOps/CI/CD workflows
• Write technical documentation, tests, and release notes
• Collaborate with developers, analysts, and mission stakeholders to define features

Requirements

• Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics (or equivalent)
• 5+ years relevant experience
• Proficiency in Java, Python, and frameworks like Spring Boot or Flask
• Experience with Git, Docker/Kubernetes, virtualized environments
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, data pipelines
• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph

Nice to have

• Familiarity with ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Redis, or ArangoDB
• Experience with Kafka or Flink for streaming data
• Exposure to batch analytics, machine learning pipelines, or AWS
