Software Engineer (Java/Fullstack)

Location: Hybrid position based in Kansas City, Missouri, with scheduled office attendance required. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

What you will do

• Develop front-end and back-end components for investment management applications.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code primarily in Java, with opportunities to use Python and other languages.
• Design, implement, and optimize data storage solutions using relational databases such as DB2 and Oracle.
• Participate in SAFe Agile practices, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Use Git and GitHub, conduct code reviews, write unit tests, and debug and troubleshoot applications.
• Collaborate with technical leads, product owners, architects, developers, portfolio managers, traders, and compliance officers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on corporate software development experience.
• Proficiency in Java or a similar language such as Python or C#.
• Hands-on SQL experience and knowledge of relational databases.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and Git or another version control system.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, debugging, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience in finance or asset management.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools and practices.
• Experience writing and implementing unit tests, such as with JUnit.
