Intelligent Controls and Automation Engineer Internship (Industry 4.0)

Location: Pomezia Plant or Gattatico Plant, Italy; onsite plant-based internship

Compensation: €1,000 gross per month plus other benefits.

Consumer goods manufacturing organization focused on digital manufacturing, automation, and future factory technologies.

What you will do

• Collaborate with experienced engineers on automation and manufacturing projects.
• Build digital infrastructure for production equipment.
• Gain hands-on experience with process and machine control.
• Work with networks, information systems, sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
• Contribute to Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 initiatives, digital manufacturing, and advanced quality systems.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in electrical, electronics, automation, computer science engineering, or a related discipline focused on automation, control systems, or digitalization.
• Fluent English and Italian required.
• Strong communication, leadership, analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Operational discipline, initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work within diverse teams.
• Passion for digital manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0, data, and analytics.
• Availability for a minimum of six months.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems, robotics, machine vision, and networking.
