Senior Backend Engineer (Fintech): Building and scaling reliable backend systems and APIs for salary advance, FGTS, and consignado lending with an accent on transaction correctness, uptime, and consumer-facing performance. Location: Remote - Brazil; twice-yearly gatherings at the Campinas office and two global company offsites annually.

What you will do
- Build and scale backend systems for salary advance, FGTS, and consignado lending.
- Develop and refine APIs supporting instant in-app financial transactions.
- Build and maintain payroll-linked and FGTS lending integrations with high uptime requirements.
- Collaborate directly with product, credit, compliance, and analytics teams.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, quality, security, and operational standards.
- Share knowledge with junior engineers and strengthen team practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of backend engineering experience and ownership of meaningful work.
- Strong experience with Kotlin and/or Java.
- Working knowledge of AWS, PostgreSQL, and ECS.
- Experience building consumer-facing systems at real transaction volumes.
- Fluent Portuguese and advanced English at C1 level required.
- Comfort using AI-powered development tools such as Claude.
