Engineering Internship, Summer 2027 (Manufacturing)

Location: Boston GO & Tech Center, United States. The 12-week internship runs between May and August 2027. Ability to relocate for the internship is required; relocation support is available to those who qualify.

Salary: $85,000–$122,200 per year.

What you will do

• Support the design, development, and implementation of control systems, robotics, Industry 4.0 technologies, and AI/ML solutions.
• Develop mechanical equipment and prototypes through modeling, analysis, and hands-on testing.
• Improve material-conversion and high-speed packaging technologies.
• Collaborate with R&D on process scale-up, material and format validation, production-line optimization, and supplier management.
• Support precision instrumentation, metrology systems, quality control, environmental compliance, and site infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering or a related technical discipline, such as mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, chemical, materials, packaging, environmental, or civil engineering.
• Expected graduation between Winter 2027 and Spring 2029.
• Analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and project-management skills.
• Basic understanding of control concepts, sensors, motors, and PLCs.
• Availability to complete a 12-week internship between May and August 2027.
• Immigration sponsorship is not available for this role.

Nice to have

• Experience in R&D, advanced manufacturing, or technical centers.
• Experience with Rockwell PLCs, industrial networks, 3D CAD/CAE, tooling, plastics and molding, precision measurement, or packaging materials.
• Experience with Python, R, LabVIEW, machining, or additive manufacturing.
