Quality Chemist (Cordova, IL)

Location: Cordova, Illinois, United States; onsite at the Global Chemical Operations plant. Domestic travel may be required up to 5%. Relocation is not authorized.

Salary: $98,964–$120,957 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay where eligible.

What you will do

• Perform quality assurance and quality control activities supporting ISO 9001, GMP, and other regulatory certifications.
• Investigate customer complaints, conduct analyses, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, refine, validate, and document analytical test methods and measurement system analyses.
• Provide investigative analytical chemistry support to plant operations and manage quality-impacted material inventories.
• Prepare laboratory protocols, summary reports, and related documentation.
• Lead kaizens and continuous-improvement projects focused on quality, cost of poor quality, process efficiency, and operational excellence.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a science or engineering discipline, completed and verified before starting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry is helpful.
• Experience with basic laboratory procedures such as wet chemistry, pH testing, and dilutions.
• Working knowledge of analytical instruments including HPLC, IC, GC, UV-Vis, Karl Fischer, ICP, NIR, and LCMS.
• Knowledge of analytical method development and validation, statistical techniques, data analysis, and variability.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship. U.S. person status may also need to be assessed for export-control compliance.

Nice to have

• Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Minitab.
• Familiarity with regulated environments such as GMP, ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or AS9100.
• Industry laboratory experience, including internships.
• Ability to work effectively independently and on cross-functional teams.
