Senior Mechanical Power Engineer (Power Generation)

Location: Missouri, United States — St. Louis or Kansas City; travel for site surveys, technical conferences, client meetings, and construction monitoring is typically less than 10%.

What you will do

• Lead the mechanical project team and coordinate work with engineers and designers from multiple disciplines.
• Monitor and communicate project status while planning, scheduling, and leading design projects.
• Provide mechanical engineering support for detailed design and owner’s engineer projects at both technical and contractual levels.
• Develop or oversee construction drawings, bid specifications, technical memoranda, reports, and cost estimates.
• Prepare or review pipe stress analyses, mechanical equipment sizing calculations, bid evaluations, code reviews, and feasibility studies.
• Travel to project sites, technical conferences, client meetings, and construction locations as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 10 years of professional experience.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a PE or P.Eng. license.
• Extensive project execution experience in the Power Market Sector.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and standard Power Market Sector design software, including PLS CAD, AutoCAD, Plant 3D, AutoPipe, and Revit.
• Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Significant experience with industrial- and utility-scale power generation systems and equipment.
• Experience designing and specifying simple-cycle, combined-cycle, distributed-generation, RICE, CHP, and renewable power projects.
