Software Engineer III (React Native)

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas, United States; onsite at Sam's Home Office

Annual salary: $90,000–$180,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible Regional Pay Zone compensation.

What you will do

• Develop iOS and Android mobile applications with React Native in collaboration with product managers, designers, and backend engineers.
• Build clean, maintainable frontend components with a focus on performance and scalability.
• Implement pixel-perfect UI/UX designs and consistent experiences across devices and platforms.
• Optimize application performance, troubleshoot frontend issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver prioritized features.
• Manage software initiatives from requirements gathering through coding, testing, and deployment while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Frontend or mobile engineering experience with React Native, JavaScript ES6+, and TypeScript.
• Experience with the React ecosystem, including Redux, Hooks, functional components, Storybook, Axios, and Formik.
• Understanding of responsive design, mobile performance, and native iOS/Android integrations.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL and using Git.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related computer science or engineering field with 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of relevant software engineering experience.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility best practices.
• Experience with Grafana, Quantum Metric, Azure App Insights, or GenAI developer productivity tools.
