Plastics Operator (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Operate plastic manufacturing production lines and adjust operating conditions to meet quality and production standards.
• Run sheet extrusion processes, including startup and shutdown, speed, pressure, bank, die temperature, and roll stand adjustments.
• Change materials and colors, load recipe data, set let-down percentages, and clean screens, breaker plates, and hot dies as required.
• Perform quality-control checks using basic math, monitor product standards, and ensure products meet customer specifications.
• Maintain machinery and surrounding areas according to 5-S standards and follow all safety regulations.
• Communicate issues to team leaders, maintenance, management, engineering, tooling, and quality personnel while documenting shift processes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of tools, instruments, test equipment, and plant processes, with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor production-equipment repairs.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and communicate professionally with colleagues.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (22.68 kg) and work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to document molding processes so they are repeatable and understandable.
• Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Nice to have

• Valid training certificate to operate a forklift; training is provided.
• Experience sampling new tools and coordinating with engineering, tooling, and quality personnel.
