BMC Firmware Engineer (Embedded Linux)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; right to work in Taiwan required

What you will do

• Design, develop, debug, and maintain BMC firmware for enterprise and data center server platforms.
• Develop and integrate features based on Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, PLDM, SMBus/I2C, and other server management standards.
• Build BMC applications, services, drivers, and middleware using C/C++ and Linux, including OpenBMC or MegaRAC-based components.
• Integrate firmware with server hardware, BIOS, CPUs, PCIe devices, storage, networking, and platform components.
• Perform firmware bring-up, performance optimization, log analysis, and root-cause analysis for system management, sensor, fan, power, thermal, and initialization issues.
• Collaborate with hardware, BIOS, validation, and system engineering teams; support production and field issues and contribute to automated testing and CI/CD.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of software or firmware development experience.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and solid Linux experience, including debugging and system-level development.
• Experience with BMC, server firmware, embedded systems, or system management software.
• Familiarity with Redfish, IPMI, MCTP, PLDM, SMBus/I2C, SPI, UART, or PCIe.
• Understanding of computer architecture and server hardware, plus firmware debugging, root-cause analysis, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with OpenBMC, MegaRAC, Redfish APIs, BMC SoCs such as AST2600/AST2700, D-Bus, Yocto, systemd, U-Boot, Linux kernel, or device drivers.
• Experience with SPDM, NC-SI, AMD, Intel, or NVIDIA server platforms and OCP specifications.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, CI/CD, automated testing, hyperscale, cloud, or data center platforms.
