Docking Technology Software Firmware Engineer, Commercial Personal Systems (Thunderbolt 5) (C/MCU/SoC/RTOS): Design and optimize embedded firmware for next-generation Thunderbolt 5 docking solutions with an accent on hardware-firmware integration, connectivity protocols, and ODM collaboration. Focus on developing scalable MCU/SoC applications, debugging complex firmware issues, automating testing and CI/CD pipelines, and improving product quality through technical guidance.
Location: Taipei, Taipei City, Taiwan Region; candidates must perform the job in Taipei and be authorized to work in Taiwan

What you will do
- Design, develop, and optimize embedded firmware for Thunderbolt 5 docking products and related connectivity platforms.
- Develop MCU/SoC applications and firmware features using scalable software design practices.
- Define communication protocols, system states, and feature requirements with hardware engineering teams.
- Collaborate with ODM partners and cross-functional teams during product development, validation, and commercialization.
- Investigate and resolve firmware issues, participate in design reviews, and maintain technical documentation.
- Improve test automation and CI/CD pipelines while supporting code reviews and mentoring less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in embedded software and firmware development.
- Strong C programming skills and hands-on experience with embedded systems, MCU/SoC platforms, RTOS, and firmware debugging.
- Familiarity with hardware communication protocols and Git.
- Fluent English and Mandarin are required.
- Authorization to work in Taiwan and ability to perform the job in Taipei are required.
Nice to have
- Firmware development experience with docking stations, Thunderbolt, USB Type-C, USB4, or related connectivity products.
- Proficiency in C++, Python, or Embedded Linux.
- Experience working with ODM/OEM partners and managing product lifecycles.
- Experience with CI/CD automation and automated testing frameworks.
