Project Manager - Packaging Automation

Location: Oakville, Ontario, Canada. Full-time onsite role with approximately 30% travel, primarily to customer manufacturing facilities in the United States, plus occasional international travel. Cross-border travel eligibility is required.

Salary: $110K–$125K per year.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary point of contact for global Consumer Packaged Goods clients and manage customer inquiries.
• Provide technical expertise on packaging automation systems and maintain long-term client relationships.
• Review customer and vendor drawings, specifications, layouts, and mechanical designs.
• Manage customer and vendor changes, negotiations, project budgets, schedules, and coordination.
• Lead mechanical and electrical engineering teams and support production activities.
• Create and validate installation documentation, including BOMs, detail drawings, assembly drawings, and layouts, then lead site commissioning and start-up.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering technology (CET), or a related field.
• 6–10 years of technical experience in engineering and project management within packaging or automation.
• Experience with line layouts, equipment specifications, mechanical design, and AutoCAD.
• Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD systems.
• Experience with equipment start-up and debugging.
• Ability to meet cross-border travel requirements for customer and international travel.

Nice to have

• PMP designation.
• Experience with end-of-line packaging equipment.
• Automation design and build experience.
