What you will do

  • Lead development of high-volume injection-molded plastic consumables from concept through tooling release, validation, ramp-up, and production launch.
  • Coordinate technical design activities with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external molding and tooling suppliers.
  • Own DFMEA, PFMEA, risk mitigation, design verification, and validation activities.
  • Optimize part designs for manufacturability, cost, yield, cycle time, material compatibility, and long-term reliability.
  • Create SolidWorks CAD models and detailed drawings with GD&T, tolerances, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Support existing products through quality escalations, root-cause analysis, cost reduction, supply chain changes, and electro-mechanical subsystem integration.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of mechanical product development experience, especially with injection-molded plastic components and consumable products.
  • Experience leading molded-part designs through tooling, validation, ramp-up, and the full product lifecycle.
  • Strong knowledge of plastic part design, polymer selection, mold tooling, gate and flow considerations, shrinkage, warpage, and cosmetic requirements.
  • Hands-on proficiency with SolidWorks, 2D engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, FEA, and simulation-result interpretation.
  • Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, ECOs, DOE, structured problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and engineering documentation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and strong cross-functional communication skills.
