Software Engineer 2 (Java)

Location: On-site in Linthicum Heights, Maryland or San Antonio, Texas; United States citizenship and an appropriate security clearance are required.

Salary: $64.04–$120.27 per hour.

What you will do

• Develop new capabilities for a virtual malware containment enclave and modernize malware enrichment services.
• Analyze requirements, design software, develop algorithms, and build complex software systems.
• Implement and optimize Java backend services and REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain web applications using JavaScript frameworks.
• Integrate software into new environments, debug defects, and resolve software problem reports.
• Develop database queries, execute software tests, and document system designs and results.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph; current PRIVAC eligibility or a polygraph within the last seven years is required.
• United States citizenship is required.
• Fourteen years of software engineering experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline; four additional years of relevant software engineering experience may substitute for the degree.
• Experience with virtual machines, image creation, virtual-environment networking, and Python scripting for VM automation.
• Experience with Atlassian tools, Git, and IntelliJ or Eclipse.

Nice to have

• Kotlin, Spring or Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Java applications, and REST experience.
• Experience with complex database interfaces, algorithms, and performance-constrained systems.
