Safety Manager (Transmission/Substation)

Location: Must be based in the U.S. and able to travel extensively within the assigned region.

Salary: $115,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct regular field safety observations to evaluate crew compliance with company standards and critical task procedures.
• Lead safety discussions, including tailgate meetings, daily briefings, and weekly stand-downs.
• Respond to worksite incidents to assist with investigations, evidence gathering, and root cause analysis.
• Verify compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal safety policies.
• Mentor new crew members and foremen on safety responsibilities and ownership.
• Support leadership during safety audits, inspections, and customer reviews.

Requirements

• Minimum 3+ years of Transmission and Substation Safety experience or 7+ years in electric distribution.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and industry safety practices.
• Demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills in field environments.
• Ability to travel extensively within the assigned region.
• Basic proficiency with mobile documentation tools and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice to have

• Safety certifications such as OSHA 500, CSHO, CUSP, or equivalent.
• Experience in coaching and mentoring field employees.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
