TL;DR
Sr Program Planning and Scheduling Manager (Aerospace): Leading integrated master planning and scheduling for complex aerospace and defense programs with an accent on schedule integration, risk management, and executive-level reporting. Focus on resolving critical-path conflicts, developing resource-loaded schedules, analyzing schedule risks, and mentoring planning teams.

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; office or hybrid environment. Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.

What you will do

  • Lead the preparation, development, maintenance, and integration of master plans and schedules for complex strategic programs.
  • Perform schedule risk assessments, critical-path analysis, health assessments, and mitigation planning.
  • Resolve network logic and critical-path conflicts using tools and techniques including Gantt charts, PERT, and milestone charts.
  • Evaluate schedule compliance, identify causes of completion shortfalls, and recommend strategic interventions.
  • Present schedule status, risks, and actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Mentor planning and scheduling analysts and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, business administration, or a related field, or qualifying equivalent experience.
  • At least 11 years of program planning and scheduling experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role; 15 years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Leadership experience covering change management, mentoring, career development, training, succession planning, accountability, and performance reviews.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Project Professional or a similar scheduling tool and familiarity with Earned Value Management tools.
  • Experience developing and maintaining resource-loaded integrated master schedules, including schedule analysis, risk assessment, and critical or driving path analysis.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of EVM systems, DCMA 14-point assessments, IPMDAR, MIL-STD-881, IMP, IMS, and WBS development.
  • Experience with resource leveling, rolling-wave planning, schedule performance metrics, and schedule risk analysis.
  • Knowledge of engineering design life cycles, Department of Defense contracting, and government auditing policies.
  • Experience coaching, training, and facilitating stakeholder learning sessions.
