Controller ASC (Pipeline Operations)

Location: Onsite in Pasadena, Texas, United States; 12-hour rotating shifts, on-call availability, overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required. Daily commute should not exceed one hour each way.

What you will do

• Operate pipeline facilities and multiple pipelines simultaneously from a control center.
• Monitor and control pipeline operations through SCADA, including rates, pressures, alarms, and abnormal conditions.
• Coordinate the safe movement of refined petroleum products and specialty chemicals through pipelines, vessels, barges, and tanks.
• Schedule product movements, barge and vessel nominations, pipeline events, and customer inventories.
• Communicate critical operational and emergency information to field operators, schedulers, customers, maintenance teams, and contractors.
• Train others in operational tasks and support troubleshooting activities.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree, process control certification, or three years of equivalent work experience.
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and databases.
• Ability to recognize and respond to visual and audible alarms, abnormal operations, and multiple simultaneous situations.
• Accurate typing, calculator, mathematical, communication, problem-recognition, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, follow direction, maintain schedules, and communicate effectively by radio and telephone.
• Ability to pass the operation qualification test after training, drug screen, and background check; ability to lift 40 pounds is required.

Nice to have

• Four-year degree from an accredited college or university.
• Honorable discharge from any branch of the United States military.
• Three years of terminal operations or maintenance experience, or five years of general industry experience.
• General accounting or bookkeeping experience.
