Sr Member of Technical Staff I (BIOS)

Location: Taipei, Taiwan; proof of the right to work in Taiwan is required.

What you will do

• Implement and maintain BIOS features including POST, ACPI, SMBIOS, PCIe, USB, and memory initialization.
• Customize BIOS firmware for specific platforms and maintain version control.
• Perform root-cause analysis of firmware issues and support hardware bring-up and validation during pre-silicon and post-silicon phases.
• Collaborate with hardware architects, silicon design teams, and operating system developers.
• Provide technical consultation to OEM and ODM partners.
• Ensure UEFI and ACPI compliance and optimize server reliability, availability, and serviceability features.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of BIOS or firmware experience.
• Proficiency in C.
• Familiarity with UEFI frameworks such as EDK2 and AMI.
• Knowledge of x86 architectures, PCIe, and memory subsystems.
• Experience with debugging tools, hardware validation, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Windows on ARM BIOS, server RAS features, or embedded systems.
