Clinical/Medical Assistant (Oncology)

Location: Burnsville, Minnesota, United States; onsite clinical work

Salary: $21.50–$30.00 per hour

What you will do

• Assist physicians and clinicians with patient examinations, procedures, and daily clinical care.
• Escort patients, record vital signs and medication changes, and obtain required medical records.
• Prepare, stock, and disinfect examination and treatment rooms.
• Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as delegated by an RN or physician.
• Handle patient calls, prescription requests, referrals, rescheduling, and no-show notifications.
• Perform clerical support including chart preparation, reception, typing, filing, and faxing.

Requirements

• Medical Assistant candidates must graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Clinical Assistant candidates must have a Medical Assistant program diploma, EMT qualification, or CNA qualification with one year of direct-care experience.
• Current CPR certification is required.
• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant status is preferred; certification or registration must be obtained within six months of hire if not already held.
• Two to three years of experience is preferred; oncology experience is helpful.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, handle and lift patients, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
