TL;DR
Oncology Medical Assistant (Oncology/Hematology): Supporting physicians and clinicians with patient care, examinations, procedures, clinical records, scheduling, and pre-authorizations with an accent on oncology clinic workflows and accurate patient data collection. Focus on assisting with examinations and procedures, coordinating patient movement and records, and supporting care across regional sites.

Location: In person at the Hampton office, with travel between sites in the region as needed

Compensation: $16.88–$34.65 per hour

What you will do

  • Assist physicians and clinicians with patient care, examinations, and clinical procedures.
  • Support efficient patient flow and escort patients between exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment rooms.
  • Record vital signs, height, weight, allergies, medication changes, and other patient information before visits.
  • Obtain patient records required for treatments and procedures.
  • Schedule tests, procedures, hospital admissions, follow-up appointments, and test-result visits.
  • Arrange pre-authorizations and pre-certifications and complete other administrative duties as requested.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience, preferably in a multi-physician practice.
  • Current knowledge of the medical assisting profession and healthcare industry.
  • Willingness to travel between regional sites as needed.
  • Ability to handle and lift patients, stand and walk for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Certificate of graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
