Software Engineer 4 (Splunk)

Salary: $84.29–$138.03 per hour

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, deploy, document, maintain, and enhance complex software systems.
• Build and maintain distributed metrics and monitoring solutions for high-performance computing infrastructure.
• Develop software and analytics using Python, Java, shell scripting, and other applicable languages.
• Integrate databases, message brokers, cloud technologies, containers, and web services.
• Debug software, resolve defects, develop tests, and ensure quality and performance requirements are met.
• Provide technical leadership, coordinate development teams, and collaborate with system and hardware engineers.

Requirements

• United States citizenship and an active TS/SCI clearance with an agency-appropriate polygraph are required.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus 10 years of relevant software engineering experience; or bachelor’s degree plus 12 years; or 14 years of relevant experience.
• Recent software development experience with Python and experience using Linux command-line tools.
• Experience with Splunk SPL, dashboards, reports, data onboarding, field extractions, data models, performance tuning, alerting, incident workflows, and event correlation.
• Experience with shell or Perl scripting, Git, Kafka, Ansible, CI/CD, GitLab CI, and log management tools such as Syslog-ng or rsyslog.
• Knowledge of databases, agile development, configuration management, containers, cloud technologies, and continuous integration practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Atlassian Tool Suite, including JIRA and Confluence.
