Supplier Quality Engineer (Defense Manufacturing)

Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States; minimal travel required, approximately once per month for 1–3 days.

Salary: $64,500–$103,500 per year across U.S. locations.

What you will do

• Launch new suppliers and support the facility through production readiness.
• Validate supplier production processes, identifying and mitigating risks in FMEAs and Process Control Plans.
• Promote statistical process control and error-proofing practices with internal teams and suppliers.
• Prioritize defects, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions using structured quality tools.
• Revise procedures, benchmark industry practices, and improve production processes.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Contracts, Sales, Manufacturing, and Employee Teams while maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 1–3 or more years of related work experience.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, dimensioning, tolerancing, GD&T symbols, and specification requirements.
• Training or experience with statistical techniques and process improvement methods.
• Experience applying structured problem-solving techniques with computer applications.
• Certain positions may require U.S. Person status for access to controlled goods and technologies under ITAR or EAR regulations.

Nice to have

• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, or ability to obtain one within eight months.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer certification or equivalent within eight months.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Project, Visio, statistical software, Lotus Notes, and JDE.
