TL;DR
Supplier Quality Technician (PPAP/Manufacturing): Reviewing and managing supplier PPAP submissions, validation data, and approval documentation with an accent on AIAG Core Tools, dimensional validation, and supplier corrective actions. Focus on resolving documentation gaps, tracking launch readiness, and driving root-cause analysis across suppliers and cross-functional teams.

Location: Jefferson City, Tennessee, United States; onsite role combining office work with field and production-environment activities. Travel of up to 50% may be required.

Salary: $82,900–$134,300 per year across U.S. locations.

What you will do

  • Review PPAP submissions for completeness and compliance with AIAG and customer requirements.
  • Validate dimensional data, control plans, FMEAs, material certifications, testing, MSA results, capability studies, and process validation data.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to close documentation gaps, manage resubmissions and interim approvals, and drive corrective actions.
  • Track PPAP status, escalate risks or delays, and prepare Part Submission Warrants and approval documentation.
  • Maintain PPAP records and revision control while supporting audits, product launches, and design or process changes.
  • Provide in-plant supplier quality support and contribute to SCARs and root-cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and at least three years of experience in quality, supplier quality, or PPAP coordination.
  • Working knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, including PPAP, APQP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications.
  • Experience reviewing dimensional reports, certifications, validation documentation, and process capability data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality or document management systems; experience with QMS, supplier portals, or PPAP platforms.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% and perform office, field, and production-floor duties, including walking, standing, moderate lifting, and climbing stairs.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • Quality or AIAG Core Tools certifications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or IATF 16949.
  • Manufacturing or supplier quality experience.
