PT Production Lighting Board & Teleprompter Operator (Broadcast Production)

Location: Los Angeles, California — 5800 Sunset Blvd (Tribune-KTLA); onsite

What you will do

• Program, operate, maintain, and execute studio lighting for live broadcasts.
• Operate lighting control consoles, program lighting, and perform cue checks before and after shows.
• Install, hang, focus, circuit, replace, adjust, and repair lighting equipment and fixtures.
• Operate teleprompter systems and support news production operating systems.
• Coordinate studio lighting maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, props, grip functions, set maintenance, and inventory.
• Maintain accurate stage marks and a safe, organized workspace while supporting stage personnel during live broadcasts.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of lighting experience in a major market.
• Proven leadership ability and experience operating lighting and teleprompter systems.
• Strong organization and communication skills, with the ability to make quick decisions during live broadcasts.
• Knowledge of lighting instruments and PC-based lighting control consoles, especially ETC ION.
• Basic knowledge of newsroom operations and production processes, plus the ability to troubleshoot video and lighting issues.
• Must be an IATSE member or willing to join; varied shifts may include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of ENPS and other news operating systems.
• Microsoft Office and Outlook experience.
