PRN Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) (Oncology Infusion): Providing professional nursing care and administering oncology therapies, medications, and blood products in a Houston cancer care facility with an accent on patient assessment, treatment coordination, and safe infusion practices. Focus on accessing implanted ports and central lines, evaluating laboratory results for dose modifications, and delivering individualized care for oncology patients.

Location: Houston, Texas, United States; onsite at the Medical Center location. Monday–Friday schedule with no weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts.

What you will do

  • Plan, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care according to established nursing standards.
  • Assess patient and family needs and provide education and instructional materials.
  • Prepare and administer oncology therapies, medications, and blood products under physician supervision.
  • Assess patients and laboratory results, calculate doses, and coordinate treatment modifications with physicians.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, maintain central-line catheter devices, and document care accurately.
  • Manage applicable treatment authorizations, consent forms, reimbursement procedures, and charge capture.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited professional nursing program; a BSN is preferred.
  • Current RN license and registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and ongoing continuing education.
  • Level I: 0–3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Level II: at least 3 years of nursing experience; oncology experience is strongly preferred.
  • Senior level: at least 5 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in oncology; oncology certification is preferred.
