Sr. Tooling Engineer

Location: Beverly, MA, United States

Salary: $140,000–$150,000 annually, depending on skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Organize and maintain the tool room, including documentation, drawings, and spare-parts inventory.
• Coordinate tooling repairs, preventive maintenance, vendor activities, and new component ordering and quoting.
• Support the integration of tool-room spare parts and tooling records into SAP and other inventory systems.
• Develop SOPs and work instructions, and document tooling changes and repair histories for traceability and compliance.
• Perform root cause analysis, propose tooling improvements, and participate in 5S and continuous improvement activities.
• Provide hands-on support for basic injection mold and extrusion maintenance and repair, and travel to other sites as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or university degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering, or a related science or technical field.
• Familiarity with tool design, fixtures, mold-making environments, and basic tool functions and manufacturing principles.
• Ability to measure components using micrometers, indicators, and other common tooling measurement equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD files, with knowledge of GD&T.
• Basic familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
