Agent Engineer (AI)

Location: Marysville, Ohio, United States

Salary: $140,000–$164,700 per year, plus eligibility for corporate bonus programs.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end AI agent development lifecycle from requirements and architecture through piloting, deployment, monitoring, and iteration.
• Build production-grade AI agents with Sierra and frameworks such as LangChain or ADK for customer-facing and internal use cases.
• Design conversation flows, tool use, RAG integrations, human handoff logic, and deployments across chat, SMS, voice, and email.
• Implement prompt engineering, guardrails, and evaluation pipelines for quality, safety, and brand compliance.
• Integrate agents with CRM, e-commerce, knowledge bases, internal tools, and APIs using secure and compliant data access.
• Partner with Digital and Customer Service teams, define success metrics, monitor performance, and establish reusable development patterns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, including 1+ year building or integrating AI/LLM-powered applications or agents.
• Strong Python programming skills are required.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs such as GPT-4, Claude, or Gemini, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, and agent orchestration.
• Experience shipping production software with ownership of design, implementation, and iteration.
• Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and align priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sierra, voice AI, or enterprise conversational AI platforms.
• Experience in customer service, e-commerce, CPG, or retail.
• Cloud experience with GCP, AWS, or Azure and CI/CD for ML or agent deployments.
• Experience with agent evaluation, A/B testing, AI observability, responsible AI, data governance, or compliance.
• React, TypeScript/JavaScript, and API design experience.
