AI Engineer

Location: San Antonio, Texas, United States; full-time onsite role

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy AI-powered applications and agentic AI solutions.
• Build and optimize workflows using foundation models, open-source LLMs, and internally trained models.
• Develop AI agents, APIs, and supporting services for scalable and secure AI operations.
• Implement retrieval-augmented generation, vector database integrations, prompt engineering, and agent-to-agent communication.
• Deploy and operate AI and machine learning models in production while ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders, support AI data pipelines, document architectures, and evaluate emerging technologies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least three years of professional experience developing AI, machine learning, or generative AI solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Python, agentic AI systems, AI workflows, APIs, and enterprise AI integrations.
• Knowledge of LLMs, foundation models, prompt engineering, generative AI, vector databases, RAG, fine-tuning, and model deployment.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments, AWS AI services, and data pipelines supporting AI and machine learning workflows.
• Experience in regulated environments, including security, governance, compliance, and Responsible AI principles.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate or AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional certification.
• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Bedrock AgentCore, LangChain, LangGraph, or Strands.
• Experience training, fine-tuning, or hosting open-source LLMs internally.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol, agent-to-agent communication protocols, C#, MLOps, and AI operationalization.
