Senior Certified Ophthalmic Retina Technician (COT/CRT/COMT)

Location: Winchester, VA, US. Full-time, onsite role with a Monday-Friday day shift; no weekends or on-call responsibilities.

Salary: $22-$28 per hour, based on experience.

What you will do

• Perform comprehensive retina patient workups, obtain histories, and conduct visual assessments.
• Perform OCT, fundus photography, and other retinal imaging.
• Assist physicians with intravitreal injection procedures and prepare patients for examinations.
• Document physician encounters in the EMR and provide medical scribing support.
• Educate patients about treatment plans and follow-up care.
• Rotate across screening, imaging, scribing, and injection clinic responsibilities while supporting efficient patient flow.

Requirements

• Current Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), Certified Retina Technician (CRT), or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) certification.
• Strong hands-on retina experience.
• Experience with OCT, fundus photography, retina patient workups, injection assistance, EMR documentation, and medical scribing.
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Nice to have

• Approximately 5+ years of retina experience.
• Bachelor's degree; substantial relevant experience may substitute for the degree.
