Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant

Salary: USD 15.75–18.33 per hour

What you will do

• Conduct patient pre-screenings and preliminary vision tests before optometrist examinations.
• Complete patient paperwork and explain preliminary examinations clearly.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs and consulting with the optician, doctor, or retail management when needed.
• Maintain a professional examination environment and ensure doctor and pre-test equipment is properly maintained.
• Support high-quality patient care and efficient patient flow.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn optical terminology, knowledge, and procedures.
• Ability to provide clear and concise instructions to customers.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required; training is provided.
