What you will do

• Lead cross-functional planning teams and facilitate working groups to synchronize operational effects and deconflict resources, timing, and objectives.
• Conduct target-system analysis to identify vulnerabilities and nodes that can produce desired operational effects.
• Develop Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness and assess the results of ongoing operations.
• Analyze national-level strategic guidance and align operational plans, priorities, and resource requirements with strategic directives.
• Draft and staff special operations documents, including CONPLANs, OPORDs, and formal planning guidance.
• Advise military staff and subordinate units on plan interpretation and brief senior leaders on proposed or current operations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Public Policy, Government, International Affairs/Relations, or a closely related discipline, or graduation from War College.
• At least 20 years of related experience, including at least 10 years since 2015 as a Planner at the O-6 or higher level within the USSOCOM Enterprise or an interagency equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to define problems, supervise studies, lead surveys, analyze data, and recommend solutions.
• Extensive experience providing strategic advice and technical guidance to Defense planners and policymakers at General/Flag Officer level or higher.
• Experience leading planning teams, facilitating working groups, translating complex operational problems into briefings and reports, and working autonomously on ambiguous scenarios.
• TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to sit for a CI Poly is required.
