Senior Legal Pricing Analyst

Location: Century City, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Orange County, Palo Alto, San Francisco, or Washington, D.C.

Annual compensation: $100,000–$130,000, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.

What you will do

• Evaluate local market trends and identify opportunities in billing rates, profitability, and value-based billing.
• Develop pricing proposals, budgets, and profitability models to support client pitches and pricing decisions.
• Research comparable matters and create templates to help attorneys prepare budgets for new matters.
• Monitor matter budgets with the Project Performance Management team and recommend repricing where appropriate.
• Audit rate and special fee arrangement data, create pricing trend reports, and analyze client performance.
• Collaborate with internal departments and use firm data stores and tools for accurate pricing analytics and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferred fields include business, economics, law, finance, accounting, or project management.
• At least 3 years of financial, procurement, and/or pricing experience.
• Strong understanding of legal pricing and profitability drivers, with exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Excel proficiency, including formulas, macros, pivot tables, and data manipulation; Power Query and VBA are advantageous.
• Ability to work independently with large volumes of data, maintain confidentiality, and communicate effectively with senior management, attorneys, and staff.
• Experience with financial management systems such as Elite 3E or Aderant, or business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau, is preferred.
