Senior International Property Underwriter

Location: New York, NY, US; hybrid work model with an expectation of being in the office at least three days per week

Salary: $164,000–$246,000 base salary per year, plus potential incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Manage a diverse portfolio of global and domestic enterprise property accounts, including fronted global programs.
• Analyze and underwrite complex man-made and natural catastrophe exposures, assessing technical insurability, pricing, and risk quality.
• Prepare quotations, structure quota-share, layered, shared, and single-carrier programs, and develop compliant terms and conditions.
• Build the Eastern Region book of business by marketing to prospects, deploying capacity, and negotiating key terms.
• Maintain accurate risk information and account administration across underwriting systems and tools.
• Represent hirify.global with clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders while mentoring underwriters and leading technical and market initiatives.

Requirements

• 4–10+ years of underwriting experience with medium to large corporate commercial property accounts.
• In-depth knowledge of complex shared, layered, and single-carrier program structures.
• Expertise in natural catastrophe and man-made risk management, loss prevention, and technical exposure analysis.
• Strong broker and client network in the NYC Metro or Eastern Region market.
• Proficiency with underwriting tools, applications, guidelines, pricing, and program-structuring systems.
• Strong communication, negotiation, prioritization, and decision-making skills, with willingness to travel within the region for client and broker meetings.

• Experience structuring and fronting global programs.
• Experience working with captives and alternative risk transfer teams.
• Experience across diverse occupancies, including heavy manufacturing.
