What you will do

• Manage a team of underwriters located in Chicago, New York, and Warren, NJ.
• Underwrite and manage a substantial portfolio of national risks across various occupancies via broker and direct channels.
• Develop new business opportunities to achieve company goals for growth and profitability.
• Collaborate with functional areas including actuarial, contract wording, accounting, law, and claims.
• Maintain awareness of competitor capabilities, strategies, and the overall insurance marketplace.
• Mentor junior staff and drive improvements in underwriting processes and procedures.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience as a senior underwriter.
• Proven experience managing a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret catastrophe modeling and actuarial methodologies and output.
• Experience in Middle Market, Large General Property, Complex Risk, and Boiler & Machinery underwriting.
• Established relationships with brokers and direct markets.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
