Pharmacist In Charge (Specialty)

Location: Onsite in Round Rock, Texas, United States

Salary: $135,000+ annual base salary, plus potential equity, paid time off, and benefits.

What you will do

• Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, overseeing licensure, controlled substances, regulatory inspections, and pharmacy compliance.
• Manage daily pharmacy operations, including prescription processing, dispensing accuracy, patient safety, storage, security, and clinical protocols.
• Lead audits, maintain records, and coordinate responses to regulatory and accrediting organizations.
• Supervise and train pharmacists, technicians, and support staff while supporting continuing education and quality standards.
• Collaborate with providers and clinic staff on coordinated patient care, formulary optimization, therapeutic substitution, patient counseling, and prior authorization reviews.
• Manage inventory, temperature-sensitive medications, procurement, recalls, medication incidents, and continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• Must work onsite in Round Rock, Texas.
• Leadership experience in a pharmacy; Pharmacist-in-Charge experience is preferred.
• Experience with specialty medication benefits investigation, prior authorization, financial assistance, appeal letters, and patient access support.
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent advanced degree.
• Active, unrestricted pharmacist license eligible for Pharmacist-in-Charge designation in the state of employment.
• Knowledge of specialty medications, strong organization and documentation skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with patients, providers, and care teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with pharmacy systems such as QS1, ComputerRx, PioneerRx, or WAM.
• Experience with EMR systems such as EPIC, Cerner, or NextGen.
• Experience with specialty pharmacy systems such as Therigy, Asembia1, or ScriptMed.
