Automation Engineer (Mechatronics)

Location: Bangkok Plant, Thailand; onsite manufacturing role

What you will do

• Execute and maintain intelligent controls, automation, and mechanical automation platforms across the site.
• Own the mechanical-automation interface, including robotics, AGVs, motion systems, conveyors, servo-driven mechanisms, pneumatics, and end-of-arm tooling.
• Lead troubleshooting, design reviews, commissioning, optimization, and technical solution ownership for automation projects.
• Execute the integrated ICA and Automation Solutions Masterplan across physical and digital automation systems.
• Deliver obsolescence mitigation and modernization projects for control systems, electrical hardware, robotics, drives, actuators, and vision-guided mechanisms.
• Provide technical scopes, cost estimates, budget input, and coordination for capital and operating expenses.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent Mechanical and Electrical/Control Engineering experience.
• Hands-on proficiency in mechatronic systems, including mechanical design, electrical control, sensors, actuators, and embedded or PLC-based control.
• Experience with ControlLogix PLCs, Wonderware, motion control, vision systems, servo drives, robotics, AGVs, networks, sensors, servers, and virtualization.
• Knowledge of mechanical automation design, including kinematics, pneumatics or hydraulics, conveyors, robotic cells, end-of-arm tooling, and machine dynamics.
• Ability to review programming standards and systems such as OPERA, PackML, Universal Pack, and A3M, while personally executing technical work.
• Fluent English and willingness to work hands-on on the Bangkok manufacturing shop floor.
