State Managing Attorney (Consumer Credit Litigation)

Location: US - CA - Teleworker; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require current or future employment visa sponsorship

Salary: $115,000.00-$125,000.00 per year. A separate budgeted pay range of $130K-$150K is also stated.

What you will do

• Represent and defend hirify.global and its affiliates in state courts, consumer-account litigation, counterclaims, and related legal proceedings.
• Prepare pleadings, discovery materials, legal documents, and litigation-related filings; collect evidence and handle trials.
• Manage, hire, train, and evaluate attorneys working within the state.
• Monitor attorney workloads, case-flow reporting, litigation trends, opposing counsel trends, and programming-related roadblocks.
• Monitor pending state legislation and advise management on developments that may affect the company.
• Develop and maintain attorney workflows, templates, procedures, and compliance practices across multiple states.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree.
• Active bar membership in the state or states where practicing; applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• At least five years of comparable attorney experience preferred.
• Prior litigation experience covering pleadings, all phases of discovery, and trials.
• Experience managing or leading multiple attorneys.
• Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Truth-in-Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and related consumer credit and collections laws.
