Agent Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY, United States

Salary: $150,000–$180,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Design, build, and ship highly performant, reliable AI agents running in production across finance, healthcare, commerce, telecommunications, and other industries.
• Own the full Agent Development Life Cycle, from initial pilots through deployment, tuning, and continuous iteration.
• Work directly with enterprise leaders and startups to understand business challenges and develop AI agents that improve operations at scale.
• Develop agent frameworks, self-service capabilities, new agent architectures, and generative agent features.
• Experiment with voice models and integrate them into enterprise-grade customer solutions.
• Use customer insights to prototype tools and features and shape hirify.global’s core AI platform with research, product, and platform teams.

Requirements

• Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills in fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
• Builder mindset, high agency, and ability to overcome obstacles and ship solutions.
• Comfort working directly with customers and solving real-world problems.
• Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• On-site availability in San Francisco or New York.

Nice to have

• Experience building or deploying AI or LLM systems in production.
• Founder or founding engineer experience.
• Familiarity with eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with React, TypeScript, or Go.
• Experience interfacing with customers or leading technical projects with external stakeholders.
