TL;DR

Location: Spokane Valley, Washington, United States

Salary: $125,000–$182,000 per year, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Assess patients through physical examinations, medical histories, diagnostic interpretation, and treatment-plan development.
  • Deliver direct patient care and manage follow-up visits after treatment completion.
  • Provide consultation, education, diagnostic management, and pharmacologic management of disease and treatment side effects.
  • Collaborate with the supervising radiation oncologist, physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Support patient care across prevention, diagnosis, acute care, survivorship, rehabilitation, and terminal or home care.
  • Participate in teaching, quality assurance, health maintenance, and clinical problem-solving activities.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited nursing education program and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program.
  • State licensure and current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of oncology care and the physiological and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
  • Ability to work independently within the scope of practice and collaborate with the supervising radiation oncologist.
  • Ability to stand, walk, grasp, reach, talk, and hear regularly, and occasionally lift, push, pull, or carry up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Three years of oncology nursing experience.
  • Previous experience as an oncology nurse practitioner or in another advanced oncology practice role.
