Software Integration Engineer (Satellite Command and Control)

Location: Hybrid, with 2–3 days in-office in Arvada, Colorado; listed locations include Denver, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. Applicants must meet U.S. export-control eligibility requirements and be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Compensation: $110K–$170K per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Develop and integrate software command-and-control solutions for satellite vehicles.
• Integrate new satellites and flight software into hirify.global’s mission management platform.
• Work with customer stakeholders to decompose mission requirements and engineer solutions using existing products.
• Debug and troubleshoot low-level software and hardware integrations across varied satellite missions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate solutions into the broader product suite.
• Contribute to scalable, maintainable, resilient, and high-performance command-and-control capabilities.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java.
• Experience developing real-time embedded software or integrating hardware assets with mission management software.
• At least 3 years of professional experience with satellite command-and-control systems or similarly complex hardware-software integration.
• Strong technical analysis, troubleshooting, software integration, and cross-functional communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Must be eligible under U.S. export regulations and able to obtain a U.S. security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience with satellite communication protocols such as CCSDS, CSP, CFDP, and IP.
• Understanding of XTCE, MIB, or similar standardized command and telemetry definitions.
• Knowledge of AES-256 and NSA Type 1 encryption algorithms.
• Experience with AWS services, Git/GitHub, and open-source software.
