Director, Product Development, FTW (Footwear)

Location: New York, NY, United States

Salary: $180,000–$225,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Lead footwear product development, engineering, sourcing, costing, and commercialization from concept through production.
• Partner with Design, Merchandising, Technical Design, Materials, Production, Quality, Compliance, and global sourcing teams to deliver seasonal collections on time and to brand standards.
• Review technical specifications, BOMs, tech packs, prototypes, market samples, colors, materials, and confirmation samples for accuracy, quality, performance, affordability, and compliance.
• Manage supplier and factory relationships, factory allocation, performance reviews, manufacturing handoffs, delivery risks, and material issues.
• Lead costing strategies, margin analysis, supplier negotiations, material optimization, manufacturing efficiencies, and year-on-year cost savings.
• Manage development calendars, mitigate risks, improve processes, and coach and develop direct reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 12 years of experience in footwear product development, sourcing, and/or production.
• Experience with PLM or other product lifecycle management systems.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, negotiation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fluid, fast-paced, multi-channel environment.
• Ability to travel as needed.
