Compensation Analyst

Location: Norfolk, Virginia, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $64,000–$96,000 per year. Additional performance-based bonuses and/or equity may be available.

What you will do

• Conduct job evaluations, market pricing analyses, compensation benchmarking, and internal equity reviews.
• Analyze compensation surveys and external market data, and prepare recommendations, models, dashboards, recurring reports, and ad hoc analyses.
• Support merit, annual compensation review, incentive compensation, offers, promotions, job changes, and organizational changes.
• Administer equity grants, vesting events, employee reporting, and related operational processes using E*TRADE.
• Reconcile equity data across E*TRADE, Workday, and payroll systems, researching and resolving discrepancies.
• Perform compensation and equity audits, maintain documentation and controls, and identify process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Three or more years of experience in compensation, equity administration, HR analytics, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of job evaluation, market pricing, salary structures, compensation benchmarking, and compensation cycles.
• Experience with equity compensation administration and reporting, including grants, vesting, and employee equity data.
• Experience using an HRIS for data extraction, validation, analysis, and reporting; Workday experience is preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, complex formulas, and data modeling, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with E*TRADE Equity Edge Online or another equity administration platform.
• Certified Equity Professional certification or progress toward certification.
• Experience with compensation survey platforms, external market data providers, dashboards, or data visualizations in Excel or Power BI.
• Exposure to pay equity analysis, compensation governance, or regulatory reporting.
