Legal Technology & AI Attorney - M&A/PE (AI)

Location: Must be based in a U.S. office; New York is preferred. Listed offices include Century City, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City, Orange County, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The role is marked as remote.

Annual compensation: $250,000–$290,000, plus discretionary performance-based bonuses.

What you will do

• Identify opportunities to apply AI, automation, and emerging technologies to M&A and Private Equity matters.
• Evaluate, prototype, and implement AI-assisted tools, document automation solutions, prompt libraries, and technology-enabled workflows.
• Participate in pilots involving AI-driven research, drafting, knowledge extraction, data, due diligence, and market analytics platforms.
• Design user-centered tools with attorneys, technologists, and administrative teams, and lead training for attorneys and staff.
• Enhance M&A and Private Equity drafting resources, model documents, guidance materials, and precedent infrastructure.
• Provide practical legal judgment while analyzing, comparing, and refining precedents against internal standards, public filings, and market practice.

Requirements

• J.D., Bachelor of Laws, or equivalent with strong academic credentials.
• Admission to practice and good standing in the state where the candidate will be based.
• At least four years of experience in M&A and/or Private Equity; other transactional backgrounds may be considered.
• Strong interest in AI and emerging technology, with the ability to apply legal training to workflow design, tool development, or process improvement.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, organizational, critical-thinking, and independent-judgment skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and build relationships across practice groups and departments.

Nice to have

• Personal or professional coding or technology-related building experience.
• Experience with experimentation, iteration, knowledge-sharing, and legal technology adoption.
