Forward Deployed Legal Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States; must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer.

Salary: $140,000–$175,000 USD annually, with potential eligibility for an annual bonus.

What you will do

• Work with law firm clients to analyze legal workflows, identify bottlenecks, and design practical process improvements.
• Create, configure, and refine LLM-based workflows, AI agents, prompts, evaluation criteria, and human-in-the-loop review processes.
• Prototype solutions with AI, automation, and no-code or low-code tools, then gather user feedback and prepare client-ready designs.
• Define requirements for data inputs, integrations, permissions, workflow logic, and trusted knowledge sources with technical delivery teams.
• Establish quality benchmarks and track adoption, usage, and value-realization metrics for legal AI solutions.
• Document reusable workflow maps, agent designs, prompt libraries, playbooks, and enablement materials.

Requirements

• Law degree strongly preferred, with experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, legal operations, knowledge management, innovation, or legal technology.
• Hands-on experience creating AI agents and working with large language models, prompting, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation, and workflow orchestration.
• Experience improving legal or professional services processes through workflow analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, automation, or operational redesign.
• Ability to collaborate directly with lawyers, paralegals, knowledge professionals, legal operations teams, and technical partners.
• Strong understanding of data security, confidentiality, privacy, governance, data residency, retention, and access control for sensitive legal information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across technical and legal audiences.
