Machine Shop (CNC Operators)

Location: Gainesville, Georgia, United States; onsite machine shop

Compensation: 2nd shift includes a $3 shift differential; weekend day shift includes $5; weekend night shift includes $6.

What you will do

• Operate CNC bar-feed lathes or mills with routine supervision and perform secondary operations.
• Load, unload, count, and inspect machined parts while maintaining published production standards.
• Perform deburring, polishing, and cleaning at the machine as required.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauge pins, and other precision measuring instruments to maintain dimensional tolerances.
• Execute machine offsets and insert changes with direction from a supervisor or lead, and report machining problems.
• Maintain machinery, work areas, inspection records, safety procedures, and routine preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction of decimals, and the ability to interpret basic dimensions on a print.
• Ability to maintain tolerances between ±.0003" and .005" or greater.
• Detail-oriented, organized, safety-focused, and capable of multitasking and sound decision-making.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
• No prior experience required; one or more years working with controls and instrumentation or equipment maintenance is preferred.
