Cloud Engineer – Managed IT Services (5117)

Location: Hybrid in Columbia, South Carolina; candidates must be within commuting distance and may periodically travel to customer facilities.

Salary: $78,800–$131,400 USD per year

What you will do

• Deploy, configure, maintain, and support AWS, Azure, GCP, and hybrid cloud environments for multiple clients.
• Implement and operate compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and backup/recovery services.
• Support cloud migrations, new implementations, upgrades, and integrations with project teams and client contacts.
• Automate operational tasks with Infrastructure-as-Code tools and scripting.
• Monitor performance, cost, system health, and security alerts; troubleshoot incidents and resolve service requests within SLAs.
• Maintain documentation, change logs, knowledge base articles, and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience operating or supporting AWS, Azure, or GCP environments, preferably in managed services.
• Strong knowledge of core cloud services, configuration, monitoring, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code.
• Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python scripting.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, ConnectWise, ticketing systems, service management, and ITIL practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, prioritization, and independent work skills.

Nice to have

• AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.
• Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, TIC 3.0, security controls, and regulatory compliance such as HIPAA or SOC 2.
• Exposure to AI/ML services including Bedrock, SageMaker, Comprehend, Lex, or Azure OpenAI.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps, and automation tools.
