AWS Cloud Engineer

Location: 100% remote within the United States

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate large-scale AWS cloud platforms for mission-critical production workloads.
• Develop infrastructure as code and automation using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Design and operate Amazon EKS or ECS clusters at scale.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application workloads.
• Strengthen cloud security through IAM, encryption, key management, and compliance controls.
• Build observability, monitoring, and alerting while troubleshooting operational issues and improving platform reliability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of cloud engineering experience, including 3+ years working with AWS in production; 6+ years of experience is specified for the position.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFront, and CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, plus experience with CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code.
• Deep understanding of cloud security, encryption, key management, compliance, observability, monitoring, and alerting.

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or DevOps Engineer – Professional certification.
• Experience with multi-account AWS Organizations and centralized governance.
• Familiarity with service mesh, eBPF-based observability, and zero-trust networking.
• Exposure to FinOps and cost-optimization frameworks.
• Experience operating HIPAA, PCI-DSS, SOC 2, or FedRAMP workloads.
