Quality Technician, Metrology & Torque Tools (Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, United States; first-shift daytime hours with extended hours or weekends as needed.

Salary: $47,000–$65,200 annually, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Support calibration, verification, traceability, and basic maintenance of metrology equipment and torque tools.
• Perform dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, comparators, and other precision measurement devices.
• Read engineering drawings, tolerances, GD&T, and key product characteristics to support machining and assembly operations.
• Troubleshoot basic metrology, measurement, and torque tool issues, escalating complex problems as needed.
• Support audits, non-conforming material containment, part sorting, quality alerts, and visual aids.
• Collect, organize, and report inspection data while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality teams, supervisors, technicians, and operators.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience in quality, metrology, maintenance, dimensional inspection, or a related technical degree in lieu of experience.
• Hands-on precision metrology and dimensional inspection experience in a manufacturing environment, including bench layout of machined parts.
• Experience working with torque tools in production and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
• Basic math and statistical knowledge, PC proficiency with Microsoft Suite and Power BI, and the ability to work independently within defined procedures.
• Ability to work on-site in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, during day-shift hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with Atlas Copco or Cleco torque tools.
• Familiarity with Gage R&R, Measurement System Analysis, milling, turning, grinding, honing, or welding.
• Basic Python or VBA scripting and serial communication experience.
• Knowledge of ISO, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies.
• ASQ Certified Quality Technician certification, GD&T training, or experience in high-precision or regulated manufacturing.
