Director A&R - AWAL

Location: United States, California, Los Angeles; the role may also be based in New York and requires attending concerts, artist appearances, photo and video shoots, recording sessions, and rehearsals.

Annual base salary: $90,000–$120,000 USD, excluding other compensation and benefits.

What you will do

• Find and acquire recording artists, songs, and producers through demos, recordings, and live performances.
• Build relationships with artists and representatives and negotiate deals.
• Identify and engage producers and coordinate meetings with artists and producers.
• Lead recording, mixing, and mastering sessions.
• Select singles and key tracks for designated artists.
• Coordinate with artists, managers, and the art department on marketing concepts.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in A&R and artist development.
• Strong communication, artist relations, and talent relations skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and defuse intense situations.
• Ability to collaborate successfully across multiple departments.
• Ability to understand, manage, and forecast budgets.
• Willingness and ability to travel and attend concerts, performances, appearances, shoots, recording sessions, and rehearsals as required.
